The $10 Laptop – Cheapest Ever
Feb 4th
Where would this $10 laptop come from?
Answer: India!
The specs according to media reports is, it features 2GB RAM, Wi-Fi and Ethernet and will consume just 2W of power. It is called Sakshat and will go for production in six months. Sorry no pictures yet. If it’s true that India can make this $10 laptop, just imagine how can they grow even more in the IT industry. Though the process on how will they do it and the costing still puzzles me. The OLPC was ok @ $100 and is doing great all in all but if Sakshat will live to it’s expectation then I think OLPC will be history.

CHARITY IT BOOT CAMP TRAININGS (WEEKENDS ONLY)
Entire course will be covered in a Day – This is purely a non-profit service
THIS IS NOT AN IT SEMINAR! THIS IS A ONE DAY COMPREHENSIVE IT TRAINING COURSE WHERE STUDENTS ARE GIVEN A FULLY INTERACTIVE HANDS-ON APPROACH IN LEARNING AND UNDERSTANDING THE COURSE SIMILAR TO A CLASS ROOM TYPE ONE-ON-ONE ATMOSPHERE.
THE COURSES I OFFER ARE COMPARATIVE TO THE EXPENSIVE BOOT CAMP COURSES OFFERED BY WELL KNOWN IT SCHOOLS IN THE COUNTRY. I HAVE SPECIALLY DESIGNED THESE COURSES TO OFFER AS AN ALMOST FREE COST SOLUTION FOR PEOPLE WHO CANNOT AFFORD EXPENSIVE IT TRAININGS FOR USE IN THEIR PROFESSIONAL CAREERS AND BUSINESS ENDEAVORS.
MY MISSION
It is a fact that people need to study and have the right to quality education. Education is probably the best solution to end illiteracy, injustice and most of all poverty… But it is also a fact that some people cant afford education simply because it is expensive. Education nowadays has become a privilege, where in only the rich could afford. Education is a RIGHT! Not a business! Not for rich people! But for everyone!
Teaching has always been my Passion! It is an addiction which made it more difficult to remove from my system. For several months, I’ve had this terrible itch to finally get back to teaching and training after my departure from my previous company working as a QA Manager/Training Supervisor in order to replace my ailing father in managing the family business. Now I have finally decided to scratch that itch, taking my hobby closer to home and thats the reason why I am now doing what most people think would be crazy of doing. And believe me when I say that There is nothing crazy about helping another soul.
My dream is to someday offer free education the moment I get proper funding from people or companies that would be willing to help and support my cause. Unfortunately for now, the best I could do is offer a cost effective Boot Camp training/tutorial program that will be affordable to all.
Making Education affordable is already one huge step in making education available to all classes of society and this is my contribution.
Let us support education and not restrict it!
ABOUT THE FEE
For this charitable cause, I offer my training services entirely for free. The fees however are more like contributions that would help keep this program running as all of the money that will be collected from every training batch will be used to cover for the operational expenses (Monthly Electricity Bill, Projector Rental, Computer Maintenance, Etc) that will be incurred during the training process since I don’t have sponsors or the financial capacity to support everything for such cause.
ABOUT ME
Hi! My name is Henry! And for almost 10 years, I had given my services to various local call centers and consultancy firms in the country working as a Trainer, Team Leader and QA Manager. I also had a brief stint working overseas as a Junior Network Administrator at an Oil and Gas company in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E and have spent a great deal of my spare time working professionally as Instructor for INFORMATICS, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E for courses like Adobe Photoshop, Imageready, Illustrator, Macromedia Flash, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Windows 2000/2003 Server, Hardware and Software PC Assembly Installation, Upgrade, troubleshooting and Computer Network Basics (LAN/WAN).

20% Chance to Increase Bandwidth
Jun 30th
Hey guys! check this out, I got this tweak from tipidpc.com, a site that buy/sell/trade computer peripherals locally here in the Philippines. It has something to do with the QOS packet scheduler in Windows XP Professional Edition talking about it’s reserved bandwidth. I did a little research and here is what I got from speedguide.net.
“The default system behavior is that all 100% bandwidth is available, however, if there is a running application that indicates to the OS it needs to send high priority/real time data, then as long as it has the socket open, Windows XP will restrict “best effort” traffic to 80% of the bandwidth so that high priority traffic can be accommodated. Basically, applications can make this request to the operating system for QoS support using the QoS application programming interfaces (APIs) in Windows and this only applies if a specific app is requesting QoS.”
If you’d like to change how much bandwidth is reserved for QoS (the default is 20% of the total bandwidth), do the following:
1. Make sure you’re logged in as “Administrator” (not just any account with admin privileges).
2. Navigate to START>Run and type: gpedit.msc
3. Navigate to Local Computer Policy > Administrative Templates > Network > QOS Packet Scheduler
4. In the right window, double-click the limit reservable bandwidth setting
5. On the setting tab, check the enabled setting.
6. Where it says “Bandwidth limit %”, change it to read 0 (or whatever percentage you want to reserve for high priority QoS data)
7. Click OK, close gpedit.mscUnder START > My Computer > My Network Connections > View Network Connections, right-click on your connection and under Properties (where it lists your protocols), make sure QOS Packet Scheduler is enabled.
You need to reboot for changes to take effect.
Note: This tweak applies only to The Professional version of Windows XP.
I’ll try this on my end and will have an update later.
